“World’s Best Coach” In Action

Image
I’ve been focused the last few weeks on “World’s Best Coach” - a simple scenic game often used towards the end of a workshop as a final exercise. It is particularly well suited for honing sales skills. This exercise can be used in workshops focused on: Sales, Leadership/Management, Team Building, Creativity, Staying In The Moment, and Public Speaking. Read instructions, talking points, and more for this exercise on the Radical Agreement website here: https://www.radicalagreement.com/worl... Exercise lead by instructor “Terry Withers”.  https://www.crunchbase.com/person/ter... https://ucbcomedy.com/user/3206

Saying Yes @ Work

Focusing on the core of all improv this week with Yes And… Exercises at   RadicalAgreement.com . Be sure to reach out if you want to try one of the seminal improv exercises that demonstrates the power of accepting your colleagues’ ideas and then building on them: Yes And Conversations. If you haven’t the time for a quick 30 minute Zoom session, try reading through the exercise here: https://www.radicalagreement.com/yes-and-conversations Terry Withers

Fun Sales Training Exercise

“World’s Best Coach” is a classic improv comedy exercise often used at corporate workshops focused on the development of Sales Skills. In particular, this exercise is great for focusing on objections and overcoming them. (Or, in improv language, listening closely to your partner and then building on their concerns until arriving at a place of agreement.) Running the exercise is simple enough. I’ve typed out instructions, talking points, and more helpful tips for anyone interested in using this exercise on my site: World's Best Coach | Radical Agreement World's Best Coach is a simple scenic game often used towards the end of a workshop as a final exercise. “Treat Your Teammates As Geniuses”

Hey, I just updated the Radical Agreement website with a new mantra that has great application to the workplace. The concept of treating your teammates as geniuses is ubiquitous throughout the improv comedy world. Sometimes it is twisted to “Make your teammates look like geniuses”. Generally the same concept but with maybe a slight tweak to the mindset being advised. In any case, it’s no wonder that living  a nd dying by such a mantra helps to build fantastic teams on the stage and elsewhere. Check out my post about it with links to suggested improv exercises for the office with which to share the mantra here: https://www.radicalagreement.com/treat-your-teammates-as-geniuses Terry Withers  — 1/26/21

PUBLIC SPEAKING EXERCISE!

Just finished typing out an instruction/takeaway document for a fun new improv exercise that primarily hones public speaking/confidence skills. It can work in person fine but is designed for Zoom specifically in that it clearly delineates when to speak in order to cut down on talking over each other.  Plus it has a great, silly name:   Nonsense (Press) Conference Anyway, I thought I'd share it in case anyone wants to give it a try with their colleagues. Please let me know if you do! https://www.radicalagreement.com/nonsense-press-conference Terry Withers
